CRiTORA is an American animated web series created by animator Derek Spangler under the username of Daydreaming Birdie. The series premiered its zeroth season on July 29, 2020, with the first season premiering on August 6, 2021.
Synopsis[]
"In a digital island city known as CRiTOPiA, small virtual creatures called CRiTORA go on all sorts of zany misadventures. Each CRiTORA has a unique appearance and personality and reside in the different Districts in the city. The only threat to the CRiTORA are the pesky ViRUSES, led by Queen Creatophage, who want to infect all CRiTORA and rule CRiTOPiA!"

The CRiTORA are the main protagonists of CRiTORA. Each one inhabitsCRiTOPiA, doing whatever they can with their lives and friends, while staying save from threats like ViRUSES.

Eggy (voiced by Derek Spangler) - A small artistic egg CRiTORA who can only speak in cute squeaks. He can get very angry though.
Spottie Leonard (voiced by Athena Priftakis) - A cyan snow leopardess CRiTORA with a wild imagination and easygoing nature.
Coneboy Golliday (voiced by Anthony LoGatto) - A goofy yet tough traffic cone CRiTORA who likes doodling.
Avery Darling (voiced by Evelyn Case (2018-2019), Tamii/KawaiiSakura (Season 0, S2E1); /Elyse Hales (Season 1-)) - A steampunk-loving flying canary CRiTORA who loves inventing things.- Bunsen Bitz (voiced by Derek Spangler) - A hyperactive but nervous rabbit CRiTORA and Nuzzie's twin brother.
- Nuzzie Bitz (voiced by Olivia Anne (Season 0); IMShadow007 (Season 1-))-A gentle yet fierce rabbit CRiTORA and Bunsen's twin sister.
- Big G Miner (voiced with ttsmp3.com) - A large psychic emerald golem CRiTORA, who is laid back and often quiet. Often hangs out with Nuzzie and Bunsen.
- [no name] (voiced by Colin Gorman) - A nervous one-eye CRiTORA built by Eggy. Very little is known about them.

- Wackiebuggies
- Petunia Sparklefly (voiced by LycheeVA) - A Fairy CRiTORA and Garden District resident. She's the de facto leader of the group and constantly has to deal with Slurpy’s silly nature and Burnie’s explosive temper. The other two Wackiebuggies get bossed around by her a bit.
- Slurpy Eatamore (voiced by Jewel Collins) - A hungry Anteater CRiTORA and Jungle District resident. He has a feud with Burnie.
- Burnie Sizzcan (voiced by Andre Grandpierre) - A Fire Ant CRiTORA and Jungle District resident who’s quite quick to anger. He has a feud with Slurpy.
- Ming-Ming Light (voiced by IMShadow007) - An ElectroPet CRiTORA that is quite adorable and has remarkably high intelligence. She is also best friends with Goldie Midas, who loves to take her on fun rides and discover new friends.
- Goldie Midas (voiced by Christina Costello) - A Balloon CRiTORA that’s light as air but hard as a diamond. Nothing can pop cheerful Goldie as she floats around happily throughout CRiTOPiA! She is also best friends with Ming-Ming Light, who she frequently travels around with and gives rides to.
- Celeste Solaluna (voiced by Nina Nikolic) - An Eclipse CRiTORA who is outgoing and enjoys meeting new CRiTORA, especially those from other Districts.

- OS (voiced by Derek Spangler) - An AVATAR and the kind creator of the CRiTORA species. He is VS’ brother.
- VS - An AVATAR and the cruel would-be destroyer of the CRiTORA species. She is OS’ sister.
ViRUSES[]
The ViRUSES are the main antagonists of CRiTORA. They have one goal: To take over CRiTOPiA.
- Queen Creatophage (voiced by Kelly Greenshield (Season 0); Alison Prophet (Season 1)) - Leader of the ViRUS swarm with the goal of taking over CRiTOPiA. Initially good natured but became bad thanks to VS.
- ViRAL Pup (voiced by Elizabeth Ryan) - Queen Creatophage's right hand ViRUS who is always with her side, acting as a messenger pet.
- ViRUSES (voiced by Derek Spangler/Various) - Queen Creatophage's tiny yet numerous minions that are created to attack and infect CRiTORA.
CRiViRUS Gang[]
The CRiViRUS Gang are a group of CRiTORA heavily affected by the Infestation Invasion on the side of the ViRUSES. They assist their leader, Queen Creatophage and her plans to take over CRiTOPIA, and command ViRUSES to attack. They act as secondary antagonists.

Season 2[]
On May 10, 2023, alongside cancelling the second part of Meetup Mayhem, Derek Spangler announced that the series will be getting a soft reboot, featuring slightly tweaked designs and slight personality changes for the main characters. It is also going to be lighter than season 1 while retaining the lore and continuity.
On September 20th, 2023, Imagination Skiing, the first episode of Season 2, was released. It was also stated CRiTORA would not be soft rebooted and would continue as is.

CRiTORA: abnormal[]

Set before the events of the main series, CRiTORA: abnormal follows a trio of unique CRiTORA who mysteriously end up in a clandestine fifteenth district following the Infestation Invasion, dubbed the Abnormal District. Determined to escape, the trio navigates through each sector of the district, rallying fellow survivors and facing perilous threats along the way.

Trivia[]
- CRiTORA takes inspiration from other shows and franchises including Mixels, Pokémon, Digimon, Tamagotchi, Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Wonder Pets! and Animator vs. Animation.
- The CRiTORA Theme Song was initially composed by a former artist of the CRiTORA series during its last developmental phase back in the start of 2020. It was later reused in the first three episodes of Season 0. Starting with Lag Race however, due to conflictions with the artist, the theme (along with its Season 0 intro) was completely remade. The current theme, composed by LastyGhost, is a short, but fast-paced melody in A Major with electronic instruments that give the impression of a video game track.
- The credits variation features a different set of video game instruments, goes at a slower pace and uses a progressive drumset. It was first heard in Beware the ViRUSES!
