The ViRUSES are the main antagonists in the CRiTORA series. They are led by Queen Creatophage and inhabit the ViRUTE Bay.

| Her head is a purple diamond with two large, mismatched pink eyes and yellow sclera, as well as dark purple eyelids. Her mouth is jagged and pink on the inside. She wears a yellow crown with pink tips and accents throughout with an outline of the ViRUS emblem. She had a small yellow neck with six black segments. serving as her torso, and a larger purple baseplate below the torso, all of which are rounded. On the torso, she has two thin arms with yellow pincer hands. On the baseplate, she has six jagged, pink, insectoid legs. She also wields a scepter with yellow and purple on both ends, having a floating pink jewel on top. | ||||

| ViRAL Pup has magenta fur, blackish pink unmatched eyes in a yellow sclera, with the oval one having a white-ish iris, and blackish pink nose and ears. She has a yellow underbelly, blackish pink legs that end in yellow paws, and a tail composed of two blackish pink circles and a yellow one between them. She wears a blackish pink collar. | ||||

| V-SPY has eyes with yellow sclera, one of which has a light grayish iris. The eyes are connected by a black joint, making them resemble a pair of glasses. It has six black insectoid legs, and it wears a dark gray fedora with a light gray stripe. | ||||

| V-RT sports white fur. It has two mismatched yellow eyes, one with a purple iris and black pupil and the other with a purple pupil. It also has a long pointy snout that ends with a teardrop-shaped purple nose. On each side of its face, there is a single whisker strand that appears to be somewhat curled. V-RT has two triangular black arms with two small, jagged paws, along with two black, semi-triangular feet, each with three toes. Finally, it has two small twisted black tails. | ||||

| V-M4A's body is dark orange and cylindrical, similar to a worm or serpent. It has an orange, circular head with a jagged mouth and two eyes with yellow sclera, one with a light blue iris. Several brown growths resembling dreadlocks adorn its head. Its body ends with a small, brown stinger. | ||||

| V-GULP is an avian ViRUS with a gray body. Its periwinkle wings are short and rounded, and are connected to the torso by indigo joints. Its head, separated by a periwinkle, circular neck, consists of an indigo lower jaw and a gray upper jaw, the latter resembling a beak. Like other ViRUSES, its eyes have yellow sclera, and one has a vermilion iris. | ||||

| V-SPAM's body consists of a pastel blue square encased in a dark grey, envelope-like outer shell. Its eyes have yellow sclera and gray pupils; one bears a green iris. Its hands simply consist of tiny, pastel blue circles, and it has a pair of black bat-like wings. | ||||
Trivia[]
- They are heavily inspired by the Nixels from the Mixels franchise, but also inspired by computer viruses, reflecting the digital nature of the CRiTORA series.
- The ViRUSES were created in Early 2020 to expand the world and add more conflict into the CRiTORA series; prototype episodes had no major conflicts.
- The first concept sketch for the ViRUSES was drawn in 2020 by JayJayJay/QQnut Games, best known for creating the upcoming indie 2D platformer game Loppy Planet Hopper.
- V-SPY is the first ViRUS not designed by Daydreaming Birdie, but by LastyGhost, who also provides its voice.
- The '4' in V-M4A's name is substituted with a longer 'A' when voiced.
- The strange ViRUSES found in the Abnormal District resemble the prototype Early 2020 designs and are unable to infect like ViRUSES on the surface.
- Other ViRUSES with strange deformities are encountered by the survivors, such as giant ViRUSES and yeti ViRUSES.
Name origins[]
- V-SPY is named after the spyware type of computer virus.
- V-M4A is named after the M4A type of file.
- V-RT is named and based after the rat species.
- V-SPAM's name comes from junk mail, often referred to as spam.
Design changes[]
- In Season 0, Queen Creatophage was heavily simplified, most notably her square eyes becoming round, her pincers are now connected to her new arms, her torso is now simply eight grey segments, and she now wears a taller crown. The three basic virus types' body color (V-A, V-B, and V-C) were all saturated. V-A received an extra eye and its three holes were reduced from three to two and became ears. V-B's eyes became bigger, taller, and closer together, along with its feet now being hemispheres instead of sphere. V-C's eyes are reduced from three to two and were moved to be beside of each other instead of being above and below each other. V-C's pincers were also reduced from six to two, and additionally gained an extra leg.
- In Season 1, Queen Creatophage's yellow parts were subdued, with her grey parts now opting for a dark purple color. She also receives a scepter with a floating pink gem, an extra spike on her crown. She also initially donned zig-zag patterned cape with a ViRUS emblem attach to her neck, but it was removed following the 2022 design updates. ViRAL Pup's yellows were also subdued, with her greys now opting for a dark magenta color. She now wears a collar around her neck. Additionally, the main three types of ViRUSES had their body and eye colors subdued, with their gray segments being recolored to darker versions of their primary body colors.
